The pristine Les Cheneaux Islands are located in Michigan’s eastern upper penninsula, approximately 15 miles northeast of Mackinac Island. The area is rich in history, from the 17th century, when French missionaries and early explorers traveled through the islands through the fur trapping and lumbering eras, to the late 19th century when fishing cabins and resorts began to dot the channels. Charming cottages are now sprinkled throughout Les Cheneaux, many of which are served by vintage wooden boats. The area offers a full range of year round activities, with a wide array of water sports and fishing in the summer, the spectacular fall color season, deer and bird hunting, cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter, and migratory bird watching and trout fishing in the spring. The Les Cheneaux Islands provide a spectacular setting for the outdoor enthusiast in all seasons. Our area offers the BEST of pure Michigan!
